So it was Memorial Day and The Handsome Captain™ was itching to use his new speargun.

I politely declined my invitation to join him and Captain Craig and instead, opted for some pool time at the Harbour Yacht Club

2012 Coast to Coast Conga Line

This was the second year that I had the pleasure of seeing the Coast to Coast Conga Line.  It was a part of Key West’s Cuban American Heritage Festival, starting at Southernmost on the Beach and ending at Mallory Square. 

Starting the conga line with fantastic music and wonderful dancing were the comparsa dancers of Key West.  Comparsa means “stage company” or “masquerade group”

Pierre’s Restaurant at The Moorings Village, Islamorada

This post could have been titled “Happy Surprise Birthday to The Handsome Captain™”.

I heard the most wonderful things from local friends about Pierre’s at The Moorings Village.  With their help and plenty of notice, I got us a reservation at the perfect time.   The biggest challenge was keeping this a secret from Mr. Inquisitive himself.

Paseo isn’t exactly new anymore.  The venue formerly known as Paradise Café opened last fall and I did try it once when I worked at my old location.
