You may purchase the print from the Key West Food and Wine Festival’s website , the hospitality suite during the event, or at Stone Soup Gallery at 802 White Street.

So how much longer do we have to wait until this fantastic event?  Take a lookey-loo right here.

Hideaway Café, Marathon

So Greg and I wanted to do something different for Thanksgiving.

Last year, we went to his father’s townhouse in Naples but this year Daddy Bonez & his wife didn’t make it down.

We knew downtown was going to be crazy and frankly, we just didn’t want to deal with it.

Characters, Cars, Canines, and Carbs: A Pictorial

Published by Miss Prissy on November 27th, 2011 - in Out & About
Some of the greatest things about living on this crazy island are the amazing characters.  Specifically, I love living in an area where I can see Mr. James Chapman all over town.  He’s a conch, though what generation I have no idea.  I do know that his grandfather bought the family homestead at 221 Petronia in 1872 for $350.

There is more than one lighted disco bike at the family home;  Mr. Chapman has been teaching the art of making folks happy to his grandson.  And makes folks happy, he does.

Locals, tourists, whatever…peoples’ faces light up up when they hear “Super Freak”, assorted oldies, and tunes by Earth Wind & Fire.

Drag Queen Bingo at 801

Published by Miss Prissy on November 22nd, 2011 - in Out & About
“So this ain’t your Grandma’s bingo.”  The dearly departed RV Beaumont used to say that every Sunday.  Of course it wasn’t and still isn’t.

It’s also not Roman Catholic bingo.  No, no, no.

This is Drag Queen Bingo, held every Sunday at 5pm upstairs at 801 Bourbon Bar on 801 Duval Street.  Pictured right is Q-Mitch.

Drag Queen Bingo is one of Key West’s longest-running fundraisers, every Sunday for over 26 years.  They pick a particular charity and for 6 weeks, that is where the bingo proceeds go.  The 2012 schedule is already prepared.  WAY impressive!

For a small cost of $5, you get 3 bingo cards.  In addition, you can throw a couple of dollars into the pot for “coverall”.  There is also a 50/50 drawing.

Several different non-profit organizations in Key West have benefited from the wonderful folks at 801 and the great locals and visitors who play for charity.
